This year we honor Community Heroes!
Honoring a community hero creates an example for the rest of the community to follow. It emphasizes that community service is important, and, through the choice of whom to honor, makes it clear what community service means. It may inspire others to take on community service, and even become community heroes themselves. Honoring a community hero shows the community who the real heroes are. If a hero is someone who strives mightily and selflessly toward a goal that benefits many, rather than themselves, the community hero certainly fits the description better than the sports figures, entertainers, and wealthy business persons who so often are seen as heroes.

Proceeds to benefit our Save the Next Bright Star Program, this program raises awareness of sudden cardiac arrest, identifies those youth at risk along with their family members, promotes heart healthy lifestyles, and improves the CPR/AED skills in the community, enhancing the likelihood of survival from sudden cardiac death in Philadelphia.
